How to fix iTunes or iPhone Error 4013 ?

“The iPhone could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (4013).” If you’re iPhone XS (Max) or any other iPhone model user maybe you have seen this message before while trying to restore your iPhone. This message is a common error occurs while trying to restore the iPhone using iTunes. And known as iPhone Error 4013 or iTunes Error 4013.

So, why this error happen? Well, iPhone Error 4013 or iTunes Error 4013 is a hardware related issue it happens by faulty USB cable or faulty USB port that causes communication issues between your iOS device and iTunes. Which prevents your iTunes from updating or restoring your iPhone.

Fortunately, this problem isn’t a big issue and there are many simple solutions can fix it.

How to fix iTunes or iPhone Error 4013?

Solution 1: Fix iPhone error  (iOS 12/12.3) without losing data

  • Download and launch dr.fone.
  •  From the main menu, choose ‘System Repair’.

  • Connect your device to the computer via a cable.
  • dr.fone will show you two modes to fix error 4013. For data security, try the standard mode first.

  • Click on ‘Start.’

Solution 2: Reset all settings

In some times Error 4013 occurs if there isn’t enough space in your iPhone. So make sure there’s enough space on your device.

Solution 4: checking USB port

As we mentioned above Error 4013 is almost a connection error. So Make sure you are using an Apple USB port or use a different USB port. You can also try to plug into another PC.
