Whatsapp disappearing messages is here, this new feature allows users to send and receive disappearing messages that will disappear after 7 days. but how it works?
The new feature is available for single and group chats. t can be enabled by either user in a particular chat.
In the case of groups, the disappearing messages feature can only be enabled or disabled by any of the group admins.
With the new disappearing messages feature, the messages will only disappear after a week.
But it is also worth noting out the media files sent in a chat will still be downloaded on your device if auto-download is turned on, although they will still disappear from the chat. Also, a disappearing message will not disappear in a forwarded chat.
How to Use Whatsapp Disappearing Messages?
Enable disappearing messages
Either user can enable disappearing messages in an individual chat. Once enabled, messages in the chat will disappear after seven days.
- Open the WhatsApp chat.
- Tap the contact’s name.
- Tap Disappearing messages.
- If prompted, tap CONTINUE.
- Select On.
- Now, when you go back to the contact’s conversation you’ll see a message stating that you’ve turned on the Disappearing Messages feature and that any new messages sent in that chat from now on will be automatically deleted after seven days.
Disable disappearing messages:
If you want to disable disappearing messages, follow the same steps you did before, and select off.
- Open the WhatsApp chat.
- Tap the contact’s name.
- Tap Disappearing messages.
- If prompted, tap CONTINUE.
- Select Off.
- Once disabled, messages sent in the chat will no longer disappear.
WhatsApp will be rolling out the new disappearing messages feature to all users by the end of this month. It will be available across all major platforms including iOS, Android, and Web.
